With over 360 fully qualified International Mountain Leaders who have experience from the Arctic to the Andes, BAIML is your obvious first point of contact when looking for a person properly qualified to lead your mountain journey. BAIML keeps a register of members who are training to be, or who are, fully qualified International Mountain Leaders. Like all professional bodies we expect our members to be undertaking continuous professional development (CPD), and to meet certain professional standards.
The UIMLA International Mountain Leader and the IFMGA Mountain Guide are the only internationally recognised qualifications for those leading groups in the mountains abroad. Holders of these awards can also work in the UK's mountains.
Mountain professionals wearing the badges and carrying the carnets of these organisations have been trained and assessed to the demanding requirements of the internationally recognised qualification that they hold.
Should you settle for anything less than the best in a tough and demanding mountain environment?

Leaders who are available for work by following this link , or you can contact us through this link, letting us know your requirements, and we will contact our members by email, who will then contact you direct.
BAIML recognises that mountaineering is an activity with a danger of
personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be
aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own
actions and involvement. Hiring a professionally qualified leader does
not prevent accidents from happening.
