Membership Levels and Benefits
There are five levels of BAIML membership:
- Full members have completed all the training and assessment requirements of the IML scheme and have been awarded the UIMLA Mountain Leader Carnet. They receive all the above benefits.
- Aspirant members have reached a specified level of training and assessment and have attended the IML training course and are gaining further experience. They receive most of the above benefits.
- Inactive Members are those who are not currently working and have agreed not to work in the mountains as IMLs, and who will not give advice. They pay the full membership rate appropriate to their grade but do not pay insurance.
- Affiliate members are registered for the IML scheme and have undergone little or no training. They receive the Newsletter and limited acces to the website.
- Retired members have completed all stages of training and assessments, but have decided to permanently give up leading groups in the mountains. They receive many of the above benefits.
Membership fees and insurance prices for the current year can be found by following this link (E&OE)
