BAIML's Mission Statement |

The British Association of International Mountain Leaders exists to serve its members by;
- Regulating the profession of International Mountain Leaders (IMLs) based in the United Kingdom;
- Informing and communicating to the membership about the industry;
- Taking an active role in the Union of International Mountain Leaders (UIMLA);
- Providing training and continuing professional development;
- Arranging public liability insurance;
- Representing BAIML’s interests at MLTUK meetings.
The Association upholds the principles that:
- Mountain and trek leaders should be qualified;
- IMLs should undertake continuation training and professional development;
- IMLs should be fully insured against professional and public liability.
